Tiziana Ravasenga graduated in Biological Sciences at the University of Genoa in 2009. During her Master degree she investigated the role of Synapsin 1 as target of Brain Derived Neurotrphic Factor modulatory action on Glutamatergic Synaptic transmission at the Department of Experimental Medicine, University of Genova, Genova, Italy under the supervison of Prof. P. Baldelli.

In 2009 she obtained a summer fellowship at the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) working on the characterization of GABAA receptor mobility at GABAergic synapses in hippocampal cultured neurons.

In April 2013 Tiziana obtained a PhD in Neuroscience and Brain Technologies at the Italian Institute of Technology in collaboration with University of Genoa, in the laboratory of Dr. Andrea Barberis. She investigated the Mechanisms of Post-synaptic Plasticity at GABAergic Synapses.

She currently works as a Post Doc funded by Compagnia di San Paolo in the Andrea Barberis' Lab. She will study the interaction of synaptic plasticity between inhibitory and excitatory synapses. In particular she will focus on the effect of the induction of plasticity at single glutamatergic spine on single gabaergic synapses, by using the UV laser uncaging of neurotransmitters.
